[Though he'd been thinking about it for a while, after the last experiment Aleos decided that it was time to move to another location—being closer to the people he was comfortable certainly sounded like a better idea. So after finishing his morning shift he makes his way back to his apartment in CH1 to start packing. But as with all sort of spontaneous ideas, he didn't have enough boxes to carry his few personal belongings in.
So he'll also pass by the convenience store for such materials. All of this would be transported to the empty apartment on the first floor of CH5, though he'll still take the time to explore the upper floors once he's done transporting things between the two apartments. It shouldn't take too many trips, honestly.
Once he's settled in and become familiar with the area, he'll sit himself down outside the building entrance to observe the seasonal changes, a faint frown on his face. That can only mean one thing, and with the changes to the barrier he might as well start preparing...]
Does anyone have home remedies to recommend for the plethora of diseases and ailments that comes with autumn and winter? I would appreciate hearing some of them, especially for the common cold.
... No shots, please.
[It seems that someone would rather endure being sick in bed than those.]

[voice]
Anything warm?
[voice]
[Or rather, that was usually the case for Rudy's time. Medicine for most folks wasn't exactly all that advanced, after all, at least as far as preventing the common cold goes.]
Long as it goes down alright. Soup works, for one. So does tea. You can fix a cup with honey, ginger, and some cloves. ... You could throw some whiskey in there too, but I don't recommend it.
[voice]
... I was going to ask if warm alcohol also worked, but I suppose that answers the question.
[voice]
It just depends on whether you have a taste for it while you're sick. I don't mind it myself, but I've never found it all that helpful. But I've come across some people who swear by it. [So there has to be some truth to it, right?]
[voice]
Though I've never tried any sort of alcohol as treatment... It may because I"m not yet of age back home.
[voice]
[... How old was this guy? He didn't seem any older than him.]
[voice]
I'll keep it in mind, though.
[voice]
[It's honestly a bit strange to think of societies like that, but Rudy certainly won't question it. It's this guy's decision, really.]
Well, far as I know, I don't think there's any restrictions here. All I'll say is s'best to take it easy, especially if you're not feeling well.
[voice]
It's nice to hear the same advice, in a way.
[voice]
I know how that is. If you ask me, easier to lend a hand over taking someone else's. [That could be this kid's autobiography in a nutshell, in fact.] Still, sounds like you've got a good friend.
[voice]
And she definitely is, but she's also a little... unique when it comes to cheering people up sometimes.
[voice]
[There's a very inquiring tone as he says that. That's an awfully curious way of putting things. Rudy could certainly think of a few he could describe that way, but all in different ways.]
[voice]
[voice]
[Mildly terrifying. He's not going to knock it, but... yeah. That seems more like a distraction than a way of cheering someone up.]
I guess people have their own ways of showing how they care. ... I know someone like that too.
[voice]
Maybe they're just drawn to people like us. But it's... I don't think I could ever hate it. [Quite the contrary, it made him smile a little.]
[voice]
[Rudy quietly mumbles that last part to himself. There's getting stomped the day you get out of surgery, then there's almost getting pushed off a building. ... Honestly, he wouldn't be surprised at all if she tried something like that too.]
Might have a point. I don't see why it's a bad thing though - as long as you both understand each other, right?
[voice]
[Even with that last mumble of his own, his voice is full of a sense of pride talking about her.] What about the person who looks after you? Do you understand each other?
[voice]
[Then again, from the way this guy talks about his friend, he doesn't seem like the type to do such a thing at all. And, well. Rudy would say there's more than one person who fits that bill, but in the case of the person he's thinking of...]
Sometimes. We're both pretty different people, so sometimes it's a little hard for us to understand each other. [There's a sheepish laugh from him.] I know she's told me I'm way too much of a "big softy," in her words. But she's got a good heart too - bigger than anyone else I know. I'm glad she's here with me.
[voice]
And when he listens to Rudy describe his own friend, he can relate more than just a little. It's so much that when he laughs, so does Aleos.] She still calls you a big softie here?
[voice]
[If grins could be audible, the wide one on Rudy's face right now would really stand out. Just from his choice in words alone shows Aleos must really treasure his friend too.]
I'm Rudy, by the way.
[voice]
Rudy... [His voice is thoughtful as he repeats the name, it felt a little unusual to say it. Still, he smiles.] You can call me Aleos if you'd like.
