Mar. 20th, 2014 06:39 pm[When Aleos had first arrived over a year ago, he had been too occupied with adjusting to the things Luceti tended to subject them to to think about dates and times of year. Now that he's settled, the amount of time he has been here keeps dealing one soft blow after another, and before he knew it spring was almost here. So he decides to ask about something that has been on his mind a while, but written and with his journal camera covered. He wasn't entirely sure if the methods would work, but he did want some privacy.]
So, we recently passed another holiday centering mostly on sweethearts it seems. [Or so it had appeared to him.]
And there is beauty to that, to appreciating those bonds. However, in the country of my childhood, there was greater emphasis on celebrating the bonds between blood and higher than they, between partners. Celebrating friendship. There were special days set aside to demonstrate those gestures to each other, many during this turn of seasons. But I understand my country was in the minority when it came to that degree of emphasis, in my world.
What I mean to ask is, how many other lands had this same emphasis? In the end there is probably no true way ranking types of bonds, but I was left wondering when these holidays caught us in their wind again.
[Done with his pondering, Aleos decides to continue on with his own little celebration. The people he wants to share it most with aren't here, but he didn't want to pass another year without even trying to do something. So choosing to stay mostly in the more open area among the buildings near his residence to the south of the village, he busies himself with the simple task of launching several paper airplanes he'd made using a rubber band to send them higher into the air.
He isn't entirely paying attention to the surroundings as he does it, though. So a few may make their way across people's paths, going further out than he'd intended... Or just plain hitting people.]
