[Though he'd been thinking about it for a while, after the last experiment Aleos decided that it was time to move to another location—being closer to the people he was comfortable certainly sounded like a better idea. So after finishing his morning shift he makes his way back to his apartment in CH1 to start packing. But as with all sort of spontaneous ideas, he didn't have enough boxes to carry his few personal belongings in.

So he'll also pass by the convenience store for such materials. All of this would be transported to the empty apartment on the first floor of CH5, though he'll still take the time to explore the upper floors once he's done transporting things between the two apartments. It shouldn't take too many trips, honestly.

Once he's settled in and become familiar with the area, he'll sit himself down outside the building entrance to observe the seasonal changes, a faint frown on his face. That can only mean one thing, and with the changes to the barrier he might as well start preparing...]

Does anyone have home remedies to recommend for the plethora of diseases and ailments that comes with autumn and winter? I would appreciate hearing some of them, especially for the common cold.

... No shots, please.

[It seems that someone would rather endure being sick in bed than those.]

Another community building, the structure is more to what I'm used to and no one has offered otherwise.

I see. [He vaguely remembered tall buildings where he had meet Aleos with Kaori, but he had to admit much of his memories of that time were vague.]

Did you just want a change of scenery, then...?

I suppose that has to do with most of it. [Truthfully, he had been feeling uncomfortable ever since that fight with Mithos months ago, and figured that if changing to another location could help even a little then he'd do it.]

It's been a long time since I've lived entirely by myself, so this place has been a lot of adjusting since I got here.

[falenandawn]

But not all? [Prodding gently.] I've been wondering how you've been recently, but with recent events I have not been able to check in like I should have.

[He smiles faintly.] But I understand the need to adjust. Living alone is not something I am used to, either.

... I don't blame you, a lot has happened. [That life that made him forget his family, the next where almost everyone he knew here forgot him. It was a lot to try to handle. He shakes his head, looking down at the box on the ground between them.]

I thought you lived in a house?

[falenandawn]

Exactly my point. [He smiles a little wider, before continuing.]

But now that I do have time to ask, how have you been? The Malnosso have not been giving us any breaks lately.

I suppose it is. [He tries to return the smile, but it might be noticeable to Frey that Aleos has been tired lately.]

I'm fairly certain there wasn't a single person who remembered who I was two weeks ago in the village. You'd think I might have prepared myself a little better after all these months here.

[falenandawn]

Not one? [He looks mildly surprised by that. Often there were people who escaped the effects of shifts each time they happened... had none of them this time known Aleos?]

I was affected myself, as well... but I don't think I saw you during that time.

I'm fairly sure, though I stopped looking after the second day of all that. [Seeking out Frey had crossed his mind, but he didn't want to endure more of that after the first several people.]

You didn't remember anything either?

[He shakes his head.]


Nothing at all. [Not even his younger self's previous stay.]

But I must admit I am quiet glad it's over. Becoming 16 again is not exactly enjoyable.

Sixteen is how old I am now. At least, I think I am... [Luceti why you gotta be confusing about pulling people from opposite seasons.]

Was it that bad for you?

In some ways, though perhaps better in others. I have changed a lot since that age.

[More importantly....]

You're 16 now?

If that's what matters more to you. [He'd like to think that he can change a bit for the better, as he gets older.]

Counting by months, yes. I would still consider my birthday to by the winter solstice, though.

I was a very different person regardless.

The winter solstice? Do you know what day?

I do not really celebrate my birthday here since the calendar system of Luceti is difficult to judge against my own.

There's a calendar for a world where I am from that's exactly like this one, and it's the one most often compared and used alongside those of other worlds. So I can match up the days give or take a few. The solstice where I am from would fall on the equivalent of... December 16th.

[Really, he's been mostly counting by days this whole time, and matching seasons. He was lucky that he could even compare this calendar at all.]

December 16th.... [He trails off a moment, making a mental note.

Yes, Aleos, you did just sign yourself up up for possible cake.]

The number of days in a year here is the same as in my world, but the days per week and the months are all off.

December 16th, same day as my sister. You've been here a while, haven't you? The calender sounds like something you might be used to by now.

[That he will.]

I didn't say I wasn't used to it. [He smiles and shakes his head.]

My birthday normally occurs during the late half of the second month of the year, where I am from, though I... ah.

Do you know what happens when people return to their world?

[halflived]

When someone returns to their world? Only that they're not supposed to remember this place, but I don't know anyone who has left yet... much less come back.

[Truthfully, he's really afraid of that. Especially with the previous experiment.]

When someone returns to their world and comes back here, they return here exactly how they were back in their world. My return home was only for a duration of several weeks time there.

[He laughs.]

So when I came back I lacked the year and a half or so of height I'd gained here. It can be a bit confusing as to which age I should present myself to others as.

... That is really weird. [Seriously, that's all he can think to say about it. And having to grow all over again? It almost sounded painful]

So you haven't settled on a number?

I consider myself 20, but it's likely my body is only 19. Generally, I prefer to give the former if asked.

If that's what works for you. [Who was he to judge anyway?]

So late half of the second month, huh? I might have to remember that.

You don't have to, truly. The last time I properly celebrated it was when I assumed I was probably one full year older by time passed, in November of my first year here.

It got far too complex to bother, afterwards.

[And he hadn't been partial to celebrating it, without his family around. He smiles a little more.]

I do believe I will have to remember yours, however.

You know if you're using that logic, you shouldn't bother with mine either right? It was summer in my world, I arrived here in the middle of winter. It might as well be my half-birthday.

[Then again, he had had a conversation about this same topic with someone else in the village before, and had promised something for her half-birthday.]
