[The day starts like any other since he started working at Seventh Heaven a month back: go in, open up and prepare what he has to, make the food for the morning customers. Aleos has learned to take it all in stride, and once the number of people starts to dwindle down he takes time to rest against the counter, fiddling with his journal. There was something that had been bothering him since before he arrived, and now... It's a good time as any to ask, isn't it? So he takes a few deep breaths and starts to speak, hoping he doesn't sound too much look a fool.]

What does a name mean to you? Almost everyone has them, but it's not exactly uncommon to go by a nickname, or another name altogether. The latter part of the group interests me a little more—why did you not keep your original name?
... Why didn't you change your name? [He must sound so stupid with this, and he shakes his head a little in frustration. Public speaking wasn't his strongest suit.]
And if you've had enough hearing about that, I guess I'll take the time to ask about a fighting instructor, or partner. Self-defense, firearms and a little swordsmanship, that's what I know. But I'm not calling myself an experienced fighter.
[That should be good enough. Once he's received some answers and dealt with anyone lingering in the restaurant as his shift ends, he'll be heading out to go mill about the battle dome, observing anyone using the rooms but not in a hurry to go in himself, if at all.]

{ She sounds both humorous and serious in this speech. Can't help but be that considering what happened in the past due to the lack of information between her and her brother. } The best way one can do in any situation of a conversation is to always say their piece in the most convincing and persuasive manner. If they wish to 'win' the talk, that must be done.

So in the time I am here, I need to prepare for a talk that will likely fall through because I won't remember this place. It seems a little pointless, though I won't deny some of the benefits in helping to organize my thoughts.

Not that she had any these days. }
Long as one is willing to admit they have flaws to it, they do have a chance of improving. Acknowledgement usually means one is aware of the faults. One can trump over them in my experience.
However -- I am curious about what brought up this situation in the first place. { He mentioned he 'won't remember this place' for the talk that prompted this conversation in the first place. Back in his world then? If that's the case... } Did something happen here that made you think over it? Deeper than usual at the least. Our conversation hints that you have put much thought into this before.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking it and complicating things, I have been told before in the past that I do so often.

{ But Addie can get behind presenting oneself in a whole new way when no one knows you. It's kind of what she does as a job in her gang. } New beginnings, new chapters into our book of adventures and tales. They certainly are appealing to those who wish to change their ways or forge a new path for their own sake.

And they certainly are, but the chapters before would still affect this current one whether we want it to or not. Each one builds upon the other, after all. We can only rely on our ability to hide and keep secrets if we choose to start so fresh.

That mentality is a flawed one. She knows but it is one she loved to exploit back home when doing cons, always drumming up appeal for her in order to look good for the person she was targeting. Not that that had to be said. }
It shouldn't be too hard to pretend those chapters do not exist. From a certain perspective -- It is not that hard to tear out the pages of chapters you do not like of a book. Stick in new pages that agree with you. { The basis of the Honey Traps and what the Forgers were all about in the group. } It is simply about keeping an eye on details, reoccurring themes and learning how to use them to your advantage. Much so if you want to be able to live a new life.
